When Linny* found out she was pregnant, she was already carrying more than anyone knew. She was navigating a difficult pregnancy while trying to escape domestic violence.
Home did not feel safe, the future felt uncertain, and she felt alone. Unsure where to turn, Linny reached out to Diamond Women.
"Diamond Women helped me navigate a challenging pregnancy through counselling and material assistance when I needed it most."
Through counselling, practical support, and the M2M program, Linny found more than support services, she found a village. Linny met people who walked alongside her through motherhood, learnt practical parenting skills, and discovered a community that cared not only for her son, but for her too.
Today, her son is four years old.
Linny and her little boy still attend workshops at Diamond Women, staying connected with other Diamond mums and supporting women who are now walking the journey she once faced alone. For 20 years, stories like Linny's have been possible because someone chose to be there. Because everyone needs someone. And together, we can continue being that support for women like Linny.
When Sarah* fell pregnant, she was worried.
At the time, Sarah and her partner Kevin* were navigating a difficult season in their relationship. Communication felt harder, conflict felt heavier, and as they prepared to welcome their baby, they knew they wanted to build a stronger foundation for their growing family.
That was when they reached out to Diamond Women.
Through couples counselling, Sarah and Kevin spent over a year working together to strengthen their communication, trust, and learn healthy ways to navigate conflict.
What began as support during pregnancy became something much deeper.
It helped Sarah feel supported during one of her biggest transitions of her life, and together, they learnt how to better love and understand one another as partners and as new parents.
Today, their daughter Chelsea* is two years old.
The family continues to stay connected with Diamond Women, carrying forward the lessons, support, and community that helped them through those early years. Because everyone needs someone.
