Who is there after the baby is born?
When people ask the question, 'but who is there once baby is born?'... and how Diamond Women is playing our part in the solution for women and families.

But Who Is There After the Baby Is Born?
The conversation that keeps coming up - and the reason Diamond Women exists.
Every now and then, I find myself in a conversation that stops me in my tracks.
It usually starts with a curious question about the work we do at Diamond Women - helping women navigate unplanned pregnancies. And then, almost inevitably, comes the follow-up, "But people are so focused on helping a woman keep her baby... who’s actually there for her afterwards?"
It’s not asked with hostility. More often, it’s asked with genuine concern... and perhaps a hint of cynicism shaped by what someone’s seen or experienced.
And I get it.
Because the truth is, many women do feel alone after they make the brave decision to continue their pregnancy. The world tends to rally around the baby announcement - but when the sleepless nights hit, when maternity leave ends, when the relationship is strained or disappears entirely - that support often falls silent.
The question people are really asking is this: “Does the care go beyond the crisis?”
At Diamond Women, our answer is a resounding yes.
Because true support doesn’t stop at the decision. It starts there.
BEYOND THE BUMP
We walk with women - and men - well beyond the baby.
For some, that means emotional support: someone to talk to when the fear rises or the isolation sets in. For others, it’s practical: a car seat, nappies, a hospital bag packed and ready to go.Sometimes, it’s guidance: parenting programs, return-to-work coaching, help navigating Centrelink or job interviews after maternity leave. And for many, it’s simply the comfort of knowing: “I’m not in this alone.”
Our support isn't a single appointment or a 'one size fits all' package. It’s ongoing, tailored care that meets people right where they are: in their mess, in their healing, in their courage, in their doubt.
WE ALSO SEE THE FATHERS
Unplanned pregnancy can leave men equally unsure and unprepared.
At Diamond, we make space for them too - offering one-on-one support, tools to navigate the transition into fatherhood, and connection when shame or silence feels easier than honesty. We believe a father’s presence can change everything. So we invest in him, too.
THIS IS THE HEARTBEAT OF DIAMOND WOMEN
To create a space where every woman feels safe.
To make sure no decision is made in fear.
To walk with families for the long haul.
To replace isolation with community.
To say, again and again: You are not alone.
So yes - the question is a valid one.
"Who’s there after the baby is born?"
Our answer is simple. We are.
For as long as it takes. For as many as we can.
And with your help, we’ll keep showing up - not just for the crisis, but for the future that follows it.
